Mandate
The International Strategy for Disaster Reduction increase public awareness of hazard and risk issues for the reduction of disasters in modern societies; motivate public administration policies and measures to reduce risks; improve access of science and technology for risk reduction in local communities; and enhances the level of public understanding and participation in these endeavors.
