Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC)

Mandate

The Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean promotes economic and social development through regional and subregional cooperation and integration. ECLAC gathers, organizes, interprets and disseminates information and data related to economic and social development of the region and provides advisory services to Governments at their request and assists in the planning, organization and execution of technical cooperation prgrammes. In addition, it formulates and promotes development assistance activities organizes conferences and intergovernmental and expert group meetings and sponsors training workshops, symposia and seminars.
